Ensemble Phoenix Basel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ensemble Phoenix Basel is a group of up to 25 musicians who dedicate themselves to contemporary music. The Swiss conductor and pianist Jürg Henneberger initiated and founded the Ensemble Phoenix Basel with the flautist Christoph Bösch and the drummer Daniel Buess in 1998.

The ensemble plays at the "International Society for New Music" (IGNM) Basel and has been "ensemble-in-residence" since 2002 with its own rehearsal room and its own series of concerts in the " Gare du Nord - Bahnhof für Neue Musik" in the Basel Badischer building Train station . The concerts are made possible by the financial support of the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft. This series of concerts will also be played in the Zentrum Paul Klee in and in the Dampfzentrale in Bern .

In addition to participating in festivals for contemporary music at home and abroad (including the Lucerne Festival , Eclat Festival Stuttgart, Warsaw Autumn , Festival de Mexico), it organizes its own concerts.
