Enterprise Architecture Management Maturity Framework

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Enterprise Architecture Management Maturity Framework ( EAMMF ) is a maturity model developed by the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) for carrying out assessments for corporate architecture developments. The EAMMF belongs to the group of add-on frameworks . It complements other frameworks in enterprise architecture development work. In addition to the EAMMF, there are over 50 frameworks on the market.

development

In February 2002, Version 1.0 of the EAMMF was published by the Government Accountability Office, followed by a minor update to Version 1.1 in April 2003. The current Version 2.0 represents the first major revision of the framework and was published in August 2010.

construction

Schematic structure of the EAMMF

The EAMMF consists of three interrelated components:

  1. Hierarchical levels of maturity ( maturity stages ),
  2. Management attributes that are critical to the success of any program or organizational company ( Critical Success Attributes ) and
  3. Elements of enterprise architecture management that represent the core of a successful and mature program ( core elements ).

There are four different views, called representations, on the components mentioned above: The EA Management Action Representation , the EA Functional Area Representation , the OMB Capability Area Representation and the EA Enabler Representation . Each representation always accesses the same core elements and maturity stages, but the critical success attributes and the associated core elements differ.

application

The EAMMF is used in 27 US agencies, including the Department of Defense and the Department of Commerce .
