Example of age classification by ELSPA

The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association ( ELSPA ) was an organization of British computer games manufacturers founded in 1989 and based in London . Until 2002 it was known as the European Leisure Software Publishers Association . It represented the interests of the English game manufacturers and corresponded in its function to the German Association of Entertainment Software Germany or its successor.

From 1994 to 2003, the ELSPA carried out the age classification of computer games published in England that were not classified by the British Board of Film Classification . With the introduction of the PEGI in 2003, the age classification became obsolete. In addition, ELSPA published sales charts and, as a lobby group for game manufacturers, conducts anti- piracy campaigns.

In March 2010, the Association For UK Interactive Entertainment (UKIE) was founded as a successor organization.
