Flammability
The flammability is a measure of how easily a combustible material ignited .
The flammability is measured, among other things, by the location of the flash point . The behavior of easily inflammable substances can be improved by using flame retardants .
The new EN 13501-1 assesses the fire behavior of building materials based on their flammability and other criteria. The predecessor standard DIN 4102-1 divided flammable building materials into building material classes as light , normal or hardly flammable .
