A corker is a machine that removes crown corks from beverage bottles ( uncorking machine ). The uncorker is usually part of an industrial filling system for returnable bottles. Uncorking serves as preparation for cleaning and refilling of bottles. Reliable removal of the closures should ensure that only completely opened bottles are fed to the cleaning machine.

terms and definitions

In DIN 8782 beverage filling technology; Terms for filling systems and individual units are used to define parts of beverage filling systems. Accordingly, a box for holding bottles is a "container".

In DIN 8784 beverage filling technology; Minimum information and order-related information are provided with the machine-specific appendices B - R data sheets for the acquisition of order-related machine data. The names are, for example, "bottle filling machines", "bottle closing machines" or "bottle unscrewing machines". However, no machines are named for removing bottle caps. If they had been named, one could also assume the addition "~ maschinen".

Container uncorker

A container uncorker removes crown corks from bottles that are in containers (boxes). The containers with the bottles to be uncorked are fed to the machine by a container conveyor. The uncorking takes place inside the uncorking machine. After uncorking, the containers are removed by a conveyor. The crown caps are collected and recycled.

Cycle machine

With clocked machines, the containers are stopped for the uncorking process. An uncorking device equipped with uncorking tools (uncorking sleeves) moves into the standing container. The arrangement of the uncorking tools must correspond to the arrangement of the bottles in the container. The tools move over the bottle mouths. With the following upward movement, existing crown caps are stripped off. Crown corks that are already in the sleeve are lifted. These later get into the collecting container via a funnel. As soon as the uncorking device has moved out of the container, the container is transported on. Usually there is a recognition for crown corks in the inlet of the uncorker. This serves to stop only those containers that actually contain bottles with crown caps. Containers without a crown cap continue to run unprocessed.

Rotary uncorker

A rotary uncorker works continuously. The containers run through the machine and are processed as they pass through. The crown caps are removed from the bottle mouths by means of siphons. The operating principle of the lifter corresponds roughly to that of a manual bottle opener . These lifters are located on the outside of a cylindrical uncorking roller. The arrangement of the lifters must correspond to the arrangement of the bottles in the container. The roller rotates synchronously with the movement of the containers. The control of the roller regulates its speed so that all bottle mouths reach a lifter in order to remove any crown corks that may be present. The lifted crown caps remain on the lifter after being uncorked by means of magnets. In a specific roller position, the crown corks are specifically ejected onto a conveyor belt that feeds them to a collecting container.

Single bottle uncorker

A single bottle uncorker removes the crown corks from bottles, which are fed to the machine individually on a conveyor belt.
