1. FC Munich
The 1. FC Munich was a briefly existing football club through a merger of the German SV Munich with the 1933 FC Teutonia Munich had developed.
history
1. FC Munich - not to be confused with 1. Münchner FC 1896 , which only existed for eleven years - was created on September 1, 1933 with the merger of German SV Munich and FC Teutonia Munich , founded in 1905 , with the aim of increasing strength bundle in order to be another serious competitor to the three dominant clubs in Munich, FC Bayern , SV 1860 and FC Wacker .
While the DSV Munich did not come into being until 1923 as part of the “clean divorce” from gymnastics and sports clubs as a spin-off from MTV Munich in 1879 and played an important role in Munich football for a long time before the First World War , Teutonia played in the early years of football a role in the Bavarian metropolis.
Although the DSV Munich from 1927 to 1933 , the FC Teutonia Munich a year later, and before that from 1919 to 1922 and the 1924/25 season, were represented in the District League South Bavaria, the regional top division at the time, the expected successes remained - not least because of the strong competition - supra-regional successes were out of or out of the question.
The previous clubs would not have been approved for the top division, the Gauliga Bayern , which was newly introduced in 1933 , and the fusion club was one of four Munich teams among its founding members. However, it quickly turned out that 1. FC Munich was not up to the level of the Bavarian upper house. While FC Bayern and SV 1860 took second and third place in the opening season 1933/34 , and Munich number three, the “Bluestars” from FC Wacker, fought bravely and was able to keep the class with ninth place 1. FC knocked off twelfth and last place and had to relegate to the second-rate district league after only one season. A year later they returned to the Gauliga, but even in the 1935/36 season, when they were renamed FC 1905 Munich in 1935, they could not do justice to their own claim to catch up with the best clubs in town. As two years before, the team finished last at the end of the season and had to leave the league again.
After the self-imposed claim to establish itself as the top Munich team in the Gauliga Bayern could not be implemented, the connection was broken again; Teutonia still exists today as an independent club, the other players of the DSV rejoined MTV 1879 Munich.
