The developer unit is a technical component of a laser printer , color laser printer or a photocopier . The developer unit is used to apply a thin layer of toner to the image drum , which is then melted onto the paper by the fuser unit .

A developer unit consists of the “developer drum” (also called “developer roller”), a roller with stationary or counter-rotating magnets inside, which attracts the magnetic toner powder and homogenizes it through the changing magnetization. In addition, even a scraper located in the developer unit, which ensures that the toner powder dispensed is conveyed out of the unit, such as a mixing mechanism behind it, which distributes the toner to later a homogeneous printing result reach to and also in two-component toner on a ensures an even mixing ratio.

Types
