Epibenthos sledge comes on board

A epibenthic sledge is for He research of the deep sea benthos designed device.

The original sledges were already in use in the 18th and 19th centuries. They were wire cages that were pulled across the ground. The front dug about 5 cm deep into the ground and collected in an attached linen bag, deep-sea mud and the organisms contained in it. In the meantime, however, highly developed devices are in use. At the Ruhr University in Bochum , for example, an epibenthos sledge was developed that is specially designed for catching satchel shrimp .
