Epicondyle (from ancient Greek ἐπί epi 'bei' and κόνδυλος kondylos 'knurren', 'tuber') or Latinized epicondyle is a bone protrusion in anatomy that is located in the immediate vicinity of a joint roller ( condyle ). Epicondyles serve as the origin and insertion of muscles. Both the lower end of the humerus and the thigh bone have a medial epicondyle on the inside and a lateral epicondyle on the outside .

Inflammation of these muscle knots is known as epicondylitis .
