The Anglo-Saxon term equity story denotes the argumentation concept used to advertise equity investments among capital market participants ; it is therefore mainly addressed to investors and analysts. The term is mainly used in the context of an IPO , but increasingly also in more general communication with investors.

The equity story consists of a summary of a company. The equity story formulates the key competencies, success factors and perspectives of the company. The presentation of the company's success story, which is to be projected from the past into the future, is important for companies, as the interest of investors must be aroused in order to generate demand for this. The company's strategy , profitability , vision, philosophy and culture are particularly highlighted . This information is used by potential investors to independently assess the company.
