The Qishan earthquake in Shaanxi 780 BC Chr. Occurred in the year 780 v. BC, the second year of the reign of King You of Zhou (周 幽王), in Qishan , Shaanxi Province , China. The Guoyu (国语) reports on this in its first chapter.

Due to the damage it caused, it was possible to estimate that the quake in the epicenter reached a strength of more than IX on the Mercalli scale . Calculations based on this resulted in a magnitude of> 7.
