construction

An auger is attached to a vertical rod. At the front there is a conical pre-drill, above which there is a spiral disk or two inclined semicircular plates with cutting edges based on the principle of the Archimedean snail .

Working method

Earth drills can be driven by hand or by machine, for example via a tractor PTO shaft or a hydraulic system , each of which can be driven by a diesel engine. An auger is driven into the ground by pressure from above and a rotary movement until the auger is completely covered with earth. The pre-drill loosens the soil so that drilling is made easier. If the drill is too short, the drill rod can be extended as required, depending on the type.
