The Erdgas Ostschweiz AG , based in Zurich / Schlieren one of the five regional companies of Switzerland. It operates and maintains the largest high-pressure network in Switzerland with a length of around 630 kilometers. Every year, around 11 terawatt hours of natural gas and biogas (around a third of the total Swiss demand) flow through the Erdgas Ostschweiz AG network, which is safely and reliably transported from the import points to the connected local suppliers in Eastern Switzerland - environmentally friendly , efficient and directly to wherever the gas is consumed. Erdgas Ostschweiz AG is owned by 11 shareholders, of which Energie 360 ​​° AG is the largest with a stake of 65.98% - followed by the cities of St. Gallen (7.01%) and Schaffhausen (4.88%) %). The shareholders are very different in terms of size, legal form, customer structure and scope of their offers. The company was founded as Gasverbund Ostschweiz AG (GVO) on January 31, 1966 with headquarters in Zurich.
