Mound house

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In modern architecture, a mound house is a mostly semicircular building made of wood that is covered with a layer of earth.

Furnishing

A barrel roof made of laminated beams and gable walls made of wooden frames form the load-bearing structure. The mound house is seen as a high standard for energy-efficient living. Often equipped with a solar collector and heat pump heating , the earth mound house is ecologically very energy-saving because it is protected by the layer of earth.
