Erection center

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The erection center is a parasympathetic center in the spinal cord segments S2-S5. It is used exclusively to control the erection of the penis .

When an erection occurs, the brain sends signals to the erection center. Nerve impulses are sent from the erection center to the penis, which cause the smooth erectile tissue to relax.
