Erectometer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An erectometer is a measuring device that measures and displays the degree of erection of the penis , see also phallography .

In the technical version, it is mostly an elastic band that is carefully and tightly tied around the penis, and the mechanical tension of which is converted into an electrical measured variable and is usually also recorded over time.

In medical practice, it is suitable for the diagnosis of erectile dysfunction in the sleep laboratory . In forensic psychiatry decades ago it was used together with photographs as evidence of therapeutic success, but this turned out to be unreliable, so that it is no longer used there.
