Supplementary subject

A supplementary subject (similar or synonymous: additional subject or secondary subject ; in short: EF , ErgF , ErwF or BF ) is a supplementary or extended school or study subject. According to the Swiss MAR ( Matura Recognition Regulations ), it is designated as a compulsory elective (PWS, similar to: Elective subject / WPK) at grammar school , which can vary from canton to canton in terms of duration and number of hours per week.
The supplementary subject is an in-depth subject which, with the new Matura Recognition Ordinance of February 15, 1995 (MAV), replaced the former “types” together with the main subject .

Deviations from the provisions of this ordinance in the context of school trials can be approved.

University

In teacher training courses, for example, a supplementary or an additional subject is a minor , and for school teachers it is usually a third subject. Usually this subject is a " minor subject " or something similar.
