Erich Kalteis

Erich Kalteis (born December 24, 1926 in Traisen , † March 10, 1993 in Lilienfeld ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and principal school director. From 1978 to 1991 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

After primary and secondary school, Kalteis attended the teacher training college in St. Pölten and completed his training after a four-year break between 1944 and 1947 through military service and prisoner of war in 1949 with the Matura. He then entered the school service in 1950 and from 1953 worked in the secondary school in Traisen. Kalteis was involved in local politics from 1960 as a councilor in Traisen, and between 1968 and 1993 he held the position of mayor of this municipality. Kalteis, who was also active within the party as SPÖ district party chairman, represented his party between January 26, 1978 and October 17, 1991 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
