Erich Maier (politician)

Erich Maier (born December 8, 1947 in Lampertheim ) is a German politician .

He first completed an apprenticeship as a freight forwarder before studying business administration and political science and sports science at the TH Darmstadt for teaching at grammar schools. After completing his studies, Maier became head of the Lampertheim adult education center, and in the 1980s he took over the management of the Lampertheim cultural office. He volunteered on the board of TV Lampertheim.

In 1997, the non-party Maier ran for the office of mayor in his hometown of Lampertheim. He prevailed and was re-elected in 2003 and 2009. After reaching the age limit, he announced that he would retire before the end of his term on December 1, 2013.

On October 26, 2013, Mayor Erich Maier received the German Fire Brigade Medal from the hands of district fire chief Rainer Agostin for his commitment, commitment and cooperation for the benefit of fire protection in the asparagus town.
