Erich Prawitz

Erich Prawitz (* 1882 ; † after 1933) was a German civil servant.

Live and act

In his youth, Prawitz became a full-time trade union official. In 1919 he became an employee of the railway union. He was then taken on as an unskilled administrative officer at the Berlin police headquarters , where he was a liaison officer and expert for the trade unions in Department IA (Political Police).

In the late phase of the Weimar Republic , Prawitz, who was regarded as the special confidante of the Berlin Police President Albert Grzesinski , served as deputy head of Department IA with the rank of government councilor . In 1933 he was dismissed by the National Socialist rulers without entitlement to a pension.
