The commemorative medal 20th anniversary - democratic land reform was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). The medal was donated on July 27, 1965 in one step. They were awarded on the 20th anniversary of the democratic land reform and could be awarded to people who had made special contributions to the implementation of the land reform, the establishment of agricultural cooperatives or the complete socialist transformation of agriculture.

Appearance and wearing style

The gold-plated medal with a diameter of 31.5 mm showed the small state coat of arms of the GDR in the center of its obverse within the inscription: 20TH ANNIVERSARY (above) DEMOCRATIC SOIL REFORM (below). Both are bordered by two curved laurel branches that are crossed at the bottom and open at the top. The reverse of the medal, on the other hand, shows the upper semicircular inscription: JUNKERLAND IN FARMERHAND and underneath, as on the front, two laurel branches that are crossed at the bottom and curved upwards, which together with the inscription form a whole circle. The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest on a 24 × 12 mm wide red clasp in which two 3.5 mm wide green vertical stripes are woven at a distance of 3.5 mm from the hem.
