Recognition echo
The Erkencho , also called erquencho , is a single reed instrument from the Gran Chaco region of northern Argentina . The name recognizecho means "small Erke". The old Indian name for the instrument, putoto , means "shell".
The recognizecho is 25 to 33 centimeters long and consists of a cow horn without finger holes. An approximately 10 centimeter long single reed made from a plant tube is inserted into this at the near end . The player holds the echo with one hand while beating a drum with the other. This way of playing is similar to the combination of one-handed flute and tabor .
The erkencho is the orks ( Erque not) name, but form-related. The oriel is a natural trumpet up to seven meters long .
