Church of the Redeemer (Potsdam)
The Protestant Church of the Redeemer ( Brandenburg suburb of Potsdam at the intersection of Nansenstrasse and Meistersingerstrasse. The slender tower of the Erlöserkirche is 74 meters high, a landmark of the Brandenburg suburb and can be seen from afar.

The neo-Gothic building and various municipal buildings were built from 1896 to 1898 according to the plans of the architects Gotthilf Ludwig Möckel , Ferdinand Krüger and Arthur Kickton . Together with the adjacent Dr.-Rudolf-Tschäpe -Platz, on which an old copper beech stands, the building ensemble is a listed building. The interior of the church offers approx. 900 seats.
The Church of the Redeemer was damaged in the last days of the war and repaired again by 1947. In the early 1960s the church in the interior has been completely renovated and was doing a Schuke - Organ with 36 registers . After the urgently needed renovation of the building shell was tackled after 1989, the gradual restoration of the historical interior design began in 1998, with the painting of the chancel also being restored.
Church music
For almost five decades, church music has played an important role in the Erlöserkirche. Until the mid-1990s she was linked to church music director Friedrich Meinel and his wife Annemarie Meinel. Since the end of 1997 the conductor Ud Joffe has directed the Potsdam Choir and the music at the Erlöserkirche.
