Church of the Redeemer (Tailfingen)
The Erlöserkirche in Albstadt - Tailfingen is a Protestant parish church that was built in 1952/53.
history
"On the settlement" was already being built in Tailfingen during the 1930s. There were cheap houses for self-catering: with chicken and pig stalls. The gardens were also intended for self-sufficiency. After the Second World War, many refugees came to Tailfingen.
If church services were initially held in the Turnerheim, the desire for their own church gradually arose. In 1952 the foundation stone for the Church of the Redeemer was laid and the Church of the Redeemer was inaugurated on November 29, 1953 (1st Advent). In 1976 the entrance to the rectory and parish hall was changed and in 1986 a major interior and exterior renovation was necessary. The last construction activity was in 1998, the entrance area to the community hall was renewed.
In June 2018 the parish announced that it wanted to sell the Erlöserkirche in the medium term as part of a new real estate concept. Since August 2018, the parsonage is no longer in the house, but in Liegnitzer Straße 38. Congregational events and services will initially continue to take place in the Erlöserkirche. With the entry into force of the parish plan in 2024, the pastorate of the Church of the Redeemer will no longer exist.
