Ermündigung (of mature , adult, mature, capable of autonomous decision) is derived from the term incapacitation and was as antonym constituted for this.

Disqualification in medicine

The term dismissal describes measures that make the patient better understand his treatment through transparency, information and education, have a beneficial effect on the patient's recovery, but also contribute to the more efficient use of financial and human resources in modern health care.

Project decommissioning ("decommissioning apartment")

Abandonment here refers to the creation of opportunities to live independently in old age or with a physical limitation. The pilot project at the end of 2014 was initiated by the health service provider OTB GmbH in cooperation with the Institute for Building Telematics at the Technical University of Wildau. Together with around 50 partners from research, industry and services, a barrier-free Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) model apartment with a living space of 140 square meters was set up in Berlin .

More than a hundred age-appropriate and handicapped-friendly products, technical solutions and assistance systems are integrated into a classic living situation with living room, bedroom and bathroom as well as hallway, kitchen and toilet in the “transition apartment”. All installed components are available on the market. The model apartment can be viewed in Berlin-Marzahn . In 2015, the “Temporary Agency” project and the model apartment received an award.
