Ernst Schröder Medal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ernst Schröder Medal is an award from the Rhineland Garden, Landscaping and Sports Field Construction Associations. V. and Westfalen-Lippe e. V. The medal commemorates the Krefeld politician Ernst Schröder (1893–1976), who was President of the Central Horticultural Association ZGV from 1948 to 1968 . The Ernst Schröder Medal should not be confused with the Ernst Schröder Mint, which has been awarded by the ZGV to people who have made a contribution to horticulture since 1968.

With the award of the Ernst Schröder Medal

"The reputation of gardening, landscaping and sports field construction within the profession and in public should be promoted in a special way and a reminder of the Krefeld landscape gardener Ernst Schröder, who has campaigned for the profession in various ways in associations and professional associations. "

The award is given to personalities who have “made special contributions to gardening, landscaping and sports field construction in the broadest sense”.

The Ernst Schröder Medal consists of a silver alloy. It was designed in 1974/1975 by the sculptor and medalist Heribert Calleen and revised in 1992.
