Extended check-up

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The extended preventive medical check-up (EVU) is a screening test of the child’s developmental status , which can be used in the context of pediatric preventive medical check- ups in order to identify children with developmental neurological and psychological abnormalities at an early stage.

The indication for further diagnostic measures can be made at an early age between three months and five years and targeted therapy can be initiated.

Motor, language and cognitive development will be assessed as part of the investigation.

In addition, the child's parents and caregivers are asked about the child's behavior using a questionnaire. The systematic evaluation of the result is based on a comparison with the results of approx. 1700 children in the German federal territory ( norm sample ).
