Daggett County is a county in the state of Utah in the United States . In 2010, Daggett County had 1,059 residents. The county seat is Manila .

According to the US Census Bureau, Daggett County covers an area of ​​1,873 square kilometers, 64 square kilometers of which is water. In the northern part is the Flaming Gorge Reservoir . The county borders the counties in a clockwise direction: Uinta County, Wyoming, Moffat County, Colorado, Uintah County , Duchesne County, and Summit County . Over 90% of the land in the county is federally owned.

history

Daggett County was founded in 1918. It is named after Ellworth Daggett, the first land surveyor.

For many years the county had only a few hundred inhabitants. With the construction of the Flaming Gorge Dam at the end of the 1950s, the population multiplied suddenly, but quickly fell again after its completion in 1964. It wasn't until the 2010 census that Daggett County returned to over 1,000 residents.

Daggett County had a population of 921 people as of the 2000 census . There were 340 households and 240 families. The population density was 1 person per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 94.57% White, 0.65% African American, 0.76% Native American, 0.11% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, and 2.39% other races Groups; 1.52% were from two or more races.
