Piute County is a county in the state of Utah in the United States . The county seat is Junction . The biggest place is Circleville .

Piute County has an area of ​​1983 km² (766 mi²), 21 km² of which is water. It is bordered clockwise by the counties: Wayne County , Iron County , Garfield County , Beaver County, and Sevier County .

history

Piute County was founded in 1865. It got its name after the Indian tribe Piute .

The racial the population was composed of 95.61% White, 0.14% African American, 1.18% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, and 1.88% other races Groups; 0.91% from two or more races. 4.46% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
