Wasatch County is a county in the state of Utah in the United States . The county seat is Heber City .

Wasatch County covers an area of 3,132 square kilometers, of which 82 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the counties: Duchesne County , Utah County , Salt Lake County, and Summit County .
history
Wasatch County was founded in 1862. It got its name from the Indian word for mountain pass .

After the census in 2000 fifteen thousand two hundred and fifteen people lived in Wasatch County. There were 4,743 households and 3,870 families. The population density was 5 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 95.62% white, 0.22% African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.30% Asian, 0.10% Pacific islander and 1.96% from other races Groups; 1.38% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 5.09% of the population.
Of the 4,743 households, 46.20% had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 71.00% were married couples living together, 7.50% were single mothers. 18.40% were not families. 14.30% are single households and 5.00% have someone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.18 and the average family size was 3.55.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 34.20% residents under 18 years of age, 9.90% between 18 and 24 years of age, 29.00% between 25 and 44 years of age, 18.50% between 45 and 64 years of age 8.40% were 65 years of age or over. The average age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 103.30 males, and for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 99.50 males.
The median income for a household in the county is $ 49,612 , and the median income for a family is $ 52,102. Males had a median income of $ 37,399 versus $ 23,571 for females. The per capita income was $ 19,869. 5.20% of the population and 4.20% of families are below the poverty line. 5.60% of these were under 18 years of age and 4.00% were 65 years of age or older.
