The Weber County is a county in the state of Utah of the United States . The seat of the county administration ( County Seat ) and also the largest city is Ogden . The Weber State University (founded in 1889) is located in Ogden.

Weber County was established on March 3, 1852. It got the name from the Weber River . The Weber River was named after the trapper and settler John Henry Weber (1779-1859).

Weber County had a population of 196,533 people as of the 2000 census . There were 65,698 households and 49,536 families. The population density was 132 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 87.69% white, 1.40% African American, 0.77% Native American, 1.28% Asian, 0.16% Pacific islander and 6.59% from other races Groups; 2.12% were from two or more races.
