The Weber County is a county in the state of Utah of the United States . The seat of the county administration ( County Seat ) and also the largest city is Ogden . The Weber State University (founded in 1889) is located in Ogden.

The county covers an area of 1,708 square kilometers, of which 217 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the counties: Cache County , Rich County , Morgan County , Davis County, and Box Elder County .
history
Weber County was established on March 3, 1852. It got the name from the Weber River . The Weber River was named after the trapper and settler John Henry Weber (1779-1859).

Weber County had a population of 196,533 people as of the 2000 census . There were 65,698 households and 49,536 families. The population density was 132 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 87.69% white, 1.40% African American, 0.77% Native American, 1.28% Asian, 0.16% Pacific islander and 6.59% from other races Groups; 2.12% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 12.65% of the population.
Of the 65,698 households, 40.30% had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 60.20% were married couples living together, 10.70% were single mothers. 24.60% were not families. 20.00% were single households and 7.60% had someone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.95 and the average family size was 3.42 people.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 31.00% residents under 18 years of age, 12.60% between 18 and 24 years of age, 27.90% between 25 and 44 years of age, 18.10% between 45 and 64 years of age 10.30% were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 100.60 males, and for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 98.20 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $ 44,014 , and the median income for a family was $ 49,724. Males had a median income of $ 36,239 versus $ 24,719 for females. The per capita income was $ 18,246. 9.30% of the population and 6.90% of families are below the poverty line. 11.10% of these were under 18 years of age and 5.50% were 65 years of age or older.
