Extended splitting

An extended splitting can be ordered by the family court as part of a pension adjustment to be carried out in the event of a divorce .

Following the example of spouse splitting , in the case of extended splitting, in order to compensate for an entitlement to be compensated in principle under the law of obligations , entitlements acquired by the spouse who is subject to the compensation obligation before or during the marriage period are transferred to the pension insurance account of the person entitled to compensation.

The legal basis for extended splitting can be found in Section 3b (1) No. 1 VAHRG .
