Differentiation of specialist services
Differentiation of subject performance is the school attempt to create a largely homogeneous learning group - based on a specific subject . This is linked to the expectation of meeting the different individual strengths and weaknesses of students.
Internal and external differentiation
A distinction can be made between internal and external specialist performance. Pupils who learn more slowly attend a basic course within the framework of an external differentiation of specialist performance, faster learners are usually assigned to an extension or advanced course. Internal specialist performance differentiation takes place within a school class through the direct assignment of learning tasks to individual students, according to the performance level assigned to them by the teachers.
The allocation to the individual course levels within the scope of the differentiation of subject-specific skills is an instrument of the school's selection function.
FE / GA system
The FE / GA system (more rarely: FEGA system ) is a course system for comprehensive schools . At the beginning of the 5th grade , students are assigned to one of the four courses in the subjects German , English and mathematics .
These are in the upper claim level:
- F course: advanced course as well
- E course: extension course.
In the lower claim level:
- G course: basic course and
- A course: advanced course.
