Erwita ( Estonian Ervita ) is a village in Jerwen / Järva County in northern Estonia . Historically, the village belonged to the parish of St. Marien-Magdalenen (Koeru), today it also belongs to the municipality of Koeru .
Mansion
A manor house in Erwita has been occupied since 1663. The current classical building dates from the early 19th century. The Baltic German Russian general Gotthard Johann von Knorring was born in the Erwita manor. Today the manor is privately owned and is being restored.
