Eschivard of Sarmenia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Eschivard of Sarmenia ( French Eschivard de Sarménie ; † after February 1175) was Lord of Sarmenia and Seneschal of Antioch .

He was lord of the crusader castle Sarmenia ( Sarmaniye - سرمانية), 8 km north of Bourzey .

Between 1149 and 1169 he is documented as the Seneschal of Antioch . In a document from February 1175, its last documentary mention, it is mentioned without the Seneschal title, which someone else had probably taken over.

Gervais of Sarmenia , who is documented as Seneschal of Antioch between 1181 and 1199, was probably his son.
