The Eselsmühle in Siebenmühlental

The Eselsmühle is the second mill in the Siebenmühlental . It belongs to Musberg , a district of Leinfelden-Echterdingen .

It is located on the Reichenbach and was in operation until 2007. The donkey mill, the technology of which is spread over five floors, was the last mill in the valley in which grain was still ground into flour. However, only 15% of the energy required by the mill was covered by hydropower. An electric motor provided the rest of the power.

The Eselsmühle houses a café and a snack bar as well as a former stable for other events. There is also a wood-fired bakery, a health food store and a few donkeys, cows, sheep, chickens and geese on the farm.

A fossil collection can be viewed in the mill.
