The Essmann Building GmbH is a manufacturer of products and system solutions for exposure, natural ventilation and for smoke extraction in industrial, commercial and administrative buildings. The company is based in Bad Salzuflen in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Companies

The company was founded in 1948. In the initial phase, the focus was on the distribution of chipboard for loft extensions. This was later followed by a specialization in flat roof and facade technology in order to offer solutions for the integrated building envelope. In 1992 the company Ecodis was taken over, in 2014 Essmann merged with STG Beikirch.

Since autumn 2016 Essmann has been part of the Kingspan Group, which is based in Ireland and employs over 14,000 people worldwide. Kingspan offers sustainable building products for high performance insulation and systems for the building envelope. The company's products complement each other in such a way that they can also be integrated together in a construction project. The corporate division "Kingspan Light + Air" comprises the companies Brakel, Bristolite, CPI, Ecodis, Essmann and STG-Beikirch. They are intended to offer holistic system solutions for all aspects of light, air, security and energy efficiency for the intelligent building envelope. The value chain consists of engineering , production, assembly and service.

More than 300 employees work in development, production, administration and service in Bad Salzuflen. In addition to Bad Salzuflen, the production site is also Detmold .
