Ethnic Muslims

The following are / were designated as ethnic Muslims :

  • in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and in Macedonia Slavic Muslims .
  • In the Russian census, the members (including atheists) of all those (oriental) peoples of Russia who had adopted Islam at some point in history or were culturally influenced by Islam without necessarily having to be active believers, see Islam in Russia
  • in the Chinese census, the Chinese Muslim minorities living in the People's Republic, see Islam in China
  • in Sri Lanka the members of the Muslim minority, see Moors
  • in the Philippines the Muslim minority called Moros in the south of the Philippines, see Islam in the Philippines
