Ethnotherapy

As Ethnotherapies therapeutic healing methods are called, include the methods and approaches of different cultures that from the evidence-based medicine are not recognized in general.

These include healing approaches from traditional Chinese or Tibetan medicine and Ayurveda as well as shamanic practices of the Indians, African medicine men and Polynesian priests. In the context of ethnomedicine , attempts are being made to integrate such procedures into the framework of a classical medical procedure. The attempt is made to also consider the socio-cultural and spiritual aspects that represent the background of the respective healing method in the various cultures.
