Etsuko Toganoo
Etsuko Toganoo ( Japanese 栂 野 尾 悦子 , Toganoo Etsuko , née Etsuko Takenaka ( 竹 中 悦子 , Takenaka Etsuko ); * around 1950 ) is a former badminton player from Japan .
Career
Etsuko Takenaka won her first Japanese championship title in 1968 in women's doubles with Machiko Aizawa . In 1969 and 1970 both were able to defend this double title.
In the same year, doubles won their first international laurels at the Asian Games when they won gold. In the 1969/1970 season they also won the Denmark Open and finished third in the All England . In 1971 they also came third in London. They were ultimately able to win the title there in 1972 and defend it in 1973. In 1972 both contributed significantly to the Japanese win in the Uber Cup , while in 1975 it was only enough for second place.
With his new partner Emiko Ueno , Etsuko Toganoo won the first world championship title in women's doubles in 1977.
