The European Music Academy Bonn eV (EMB) was an association founded in 1987 by the citizens of Bonn to promote talented young musicians. Due to the cut in public grants, the academy had to be closed in June 2012.

The academy, based in Bad Godesberg (Bonn), was set up to promote outstanding musical talent from all over Europe. Over the years, more than 300 young musicians between the ages of 16 and 25 have been supported through master classes with well-known lecturers. The focus of the courses held annually in spring was always alternating singing and playing instruments. The courses were basically free of charge.

The Rheinische Streicherakademie also emerged from an initiative of the European Music Academy, which was funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and took place in the Villa Prieger .

The last chairman of the EMB since the beginning of 2010 was the Polish composer Krzysztof Meyer .
