Sabine Amsbeck-Dopheide (born September 5, 1959 in Harsewinkel ) is a German SPD politician and has been the full-time mayor of Harsewinkel, North Rhine-Westphalia, since 2004 .

Life

Sabine Amsbeck-Dopheide grew up in Harsewinkel and attended the secondary school there. In 1978 she graduated from high school in Warendorf . She first studied art and history to become a teacher, which she broke off with the birth of her children. In 1992 she began studying law in Bielefeld and after passing the second state examination in 2000, she worked as a lawyer in Steinhagen . In 2003 she opened her own law firm in Harsewinkel; her approval has been suspended since she took office as mayor in 2004.

In 1981 Sabine Amsbeck-Dopheide joined the SPD. In 1989 she took over the chairmanship of the Harsewinkel local association. In 1992 she moved to the city council of Harsewinkel for the first time.

In 2004 she was nominated for the SPD as mayoral candidate for Harsewinkel and was able to unite the second-most votes of the five candidates in the first ballot with 34.88%. In the runoff election she received 57.28% of the vote and was able to prevail against the CDU candidate. For the 2009 local elections, only the CDU presented an opposing candidate, against whom Amsbeck-Dopheide was able to prevail again with 70.84%.

At its own request, Amsbeck-Dopheide stood for election one year before the end of the 2014 legislative period, and received 82.53% of the votes without an opposing candidate.

Private

Amsbeck-Dopheide is widowed and the mother of three children.
