European Bicycle Day

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Day of the bike is a day of action in some European countries and has been held since 1998 annually on June 3 instead. It was introduced on the occasion of the increasing problematic density of traffic caused by motorized means of transport and is intended to point out that the bicycle is the most environmentally friendly, healthiest and most socially compatible means of transport. On this date or at the beginning of June, various activities and bicycle rides will take place with a view to this day .

On the occasion of the day of action, the Federal Statistical Office issues current statistics on bicycle use in Germany.
