The European University Press was founded on January 20, 2003. It has several locations in Germany and fulfills a network function for European university publishers. He has published books by relatives and institutions from more than 30 European universities and colleges. As a European network, it is a member of the international association of university publishers .

aims

The European University Press would like to increase the visibility of European research results, especially in relation to the American publications which it considers to be dominant. To this end, he promotes multilingualism in the presentation of new publications and tries z. B. for German and French-language research results, summaries in English, e.g. B. in monographs to a condensed English-language 'paper'. It also supports journals that summarize the most important research results from European countries and make them available in English. He endeavors to introduce and improve the peer review system at European university publishers and promotes exchange between university publishers. Publishers that meet the quality criteria of the European University Publishing House can identify themselves as members of the publishing network by using the logo.

On October 8, 2014, the publisher released the world's first book readable with Google Glass. The book can be read as a normal paper book or - enriched with multimedia elements - with Google Glass, Kindle and smartphones and pads of the iOS and Android platforms.
