The European Integration Center Rostock eV (EIZ Rostock) is a non-profit and non-partisan active association in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . As the Europe-Direct information center of the European Commission, the EIZ Rostock answers questions about the European Union . As a state-recognized institution for continuing education under the leitmotif Europe in MV , it also offers information events, discussion rounds and seminars to inform citizens of Rostock and the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania about current local, regional and, in particular, European political issues.

One of the main goals of the association is general and political education , conveyed through project work, events, seminars and discussion groups. It cooperates with other political foundations, scientists, authorities, politicians and civil society actors. The twelve-star project is a monthly event with a focus on topics from politics, business, society or science. In addition, there is a Polit-Café on the last Tuesday of each month, where citizens have the opportunity to exchange ideas on a defined topic in a moderated discussion. In addition, the EIZ Rostock is part of the practice-science cooperation State in Sight! the University of Esslingen , along with six educational institutions in Germany. Using the KISSeS strategy, the aim is to coach the handling of generalized rejection constructions and to promote the strengthening of democracy in rural areas by means of further education and training offers.

EDIC-MV

The EUROPE-DIRECT information center is an EU information network and acts as an intermediary between citizens and the European Union. The network includes 500 information centers in 28 member states. The EDIC offers support on questions relating to the EU. The EDIC Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania offers additional support for teachers, supports European project days in schools and offers assistance for young people. The Flying Office, i.e. the on-site European advice, is spread across a network of cities as far as Parchim, Wismar, Neustrelitz, Stralsund, Anklam and Boizenburg.

SilverSurfer

The association coordinates the implementation of training courses for the training of volunteer SilverSurfers. In the training courses, age-specific content is conveyed for participants in the 50+ age group. This involves handling smartphones and tablets, as well as handling and using internet-based offers, social media, cybercrime and data protection. Trained SilverSurfers volunteer as senior technology ambassadors from MV at various training locations with questions from citizens.

The EIZ Rostock is a EURODESK partner in MV. EURODESK is a European information network with coordination centers in 34 countries and over 1200 service points. There are around 50 offices in Germany, with the main headquarters in Bonn. EURODESK-Germany is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family, Women, Seniors and Youth and by the EU Commission . The services are therefore free, neutral and cross-carrier. Here, the EURODESK in Rostock advises, among other things kulturweit , weltwärts, Erasmus + and other abroad.
