European Custody Convention

The European Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Decisions on Custody of Children and the Restoration of Custody , or European Custody Agreement for short , was passed by the Council of Europe on May 20, 1980 ( ETS No. 105; Federal Law Gazette 1990 II pp. 206, 220) and is part of international family law . Its aim is to restore violated custody relationships; it works towards the early return of a child. It came into force in Germany in 1991.
