Europadorf (Dessau-Roßlau)
On the former Anger von Meinsdorf , a district in the north of Roßlau , the Europadorf was built from 1993 to 1996 after an architectural competition according to plans by architects from Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Finland and France. The competition was supposed to show inexpensive building in Europe, which caused irritation and displeasure, as the properties were not very inexpensive after all. The Austrian contribution and the Rundling based on Bauhaus architecture are particularly striking as a German contribution.
