from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Competition Authority (ger .: European Competition Authorities (ECA)) is an informal forum of the antitrust authorities of the European Union , the European Commission , the Member States of EFTA (except in Switzerland) and the EFTA Surveillance Authority .

The ECA is to be distinguished from the European Competition Network (ECN), whose members include the cartel authorities of the European Union and the European Commission.

The ECA was founded in 2001 and meets at regular intervals in one of the member states to hold working meetings. The aim of the ECA is to improve cooperation between the competition authorities in order to better enforce European and national competition law. Within the ECA there are currently working groups for multiple notifications, mergers, aviation, financial services and bonus regulations .

Results of these working groups are z. B. the guidelines for bonus programs to detect and prosecute cartels.
