European Locksmith Federation

ELF - stands for European Locksmith Federation ("European Locksmiths Federation"). The ELF was founded in 1984 on the initiative of the German key service company interkey in Frankfurt . Other founding members were locksmiths associations from Norway , Denmark , Sweden and England . Since then, ELF has been the European umbrella organization for improved cooperation between key services and representatives of the security industry. The association's headquarters are in Helsinki . Every year the ELF organizes a Europe-wide congress.

In 2020, the umbrella association can refer to 1,600 companies, 10,000 locksmiths and more than a dozen manufacturers of security products.
