The European Society for Engineering Education (abbreviated SEFI after French Société Européenne pour la Formation des Ingénieurs , English European Society for Engineering Education ) was founded in 1973 as a non-profit organization under Belgian law and has since been based in Brussels . It represents the largest network of universities in Europe that deal with the training of engineers. An important sister organization is the ASEE (American Society for Engineering Education), a close partner is the IGIP (International Society for Engineering Education ).

The task of the SEFI is the development, modernization and improvement of engineering education in Europe. Other focal points are strengthening the cooperation between the various technical universities in Europe, strengthening the cooperation between industrial partners and universities, as well as recruiting and promoting young engineers.

The SEFI organizes annual specialist conferences ("SEFI Annual Conference") as well as seminars and workshops on key topics, which take place on a rotating basis at various universities in Europe, and is the publisher of the bimonthly European Journal of Engineering Education (EJEE), which deals with various aspects of Engineering education and the role of engineers in society.

In 2005, 196 institutions from 30 countries were members, plus individuals and other members from a total of 39 countries.
